An American in Paris Wine Gala
Anyone going to be in Paris next month? If so, you DO NOT want to miss this event! Great wine, great people and a great cause:
Join the American Women’s Group in Paris (AWG) at their annual Gala on Saturday February 11, 2012. The theme “An American in Paris” celebrates the 60th anniversary of the iconic movie starring AWG Member, Miss Leslie Caron. An Academy Award nominee and BAFTA, Golden Globe and Emmy winning actress, Miss Caron has been a member of AWG since 2009 and is the Honorary Chair of this year’s Gala. She recently published her autobiography
The Gala will be held at the Marriott Rive Gauche. The evening begins with a lively cocktail hour and silent auction where you have an opportunity to bid on a selection of prestigious items and services.
Veuve Clicquot champagne company is generously providing champagne for the Gala. Veuve Clicquot is also donating an evening’s stay for a group of four couples at their recently renovated private mansion, Hôtel du Marc in Reims. This glorious offer also includes a champagne pairing dinner and cellar visit the next morning. So get ready to start bidding on this great prize at the Gala Live Auction!
Cocktails are followed by a three-course meal that includes wine and Veuve Clicquot champagne. AWG is pleased to announce that Veuve Clicquot will present an Initiative for Economic Development Award to Janne Ritskes, founder of The Tabitha Foundation during the gala evening. This award spotlights women entrepreneurs with a focus on corporate social responsibility. 300 women have received this award to date. Veuve Clicquot calls these women “the most exclusive assembly of women who make a difference.”
The American Women’s Group in Paris (AWG) has been raising awareness about the importance of sustainable access to clean water and is raising money to build much-needed wells for the FAWCO Target Water Program, Tabitha-Cambodia, Wells for Clean Water.
It is fitting that AWG and Veuve Clicquot have joined forces for this evening. AWG highlights and supports women and their achievements. Over 200 years ago, Madame Clicquot invented the business model of Champagne. From a small, inherited wine business she turned champagne into a multi-million dollar industry and paved the way for women in business.
During dessert AWG will begin the much acclaimed Gala Live Auction where some of the best wines and spirits are on offer along with stays at hotels, B&B’s, exclusive private residences and more.
Dance the night away as the evening comes to an end. We know EVERYONE will go home with great memories of the evening.
So, if any of our wine-loving, fellow vinovagabonds are interested in going, see the contact information below and let them know you saw it here! BTW: If you do attend, we'd happily post your first-hand account of the amazing evening right here on our site too!
